Aug. 8 – The Autonomous Province of Trento Provincial Council has approved many international solidarity initiatives proposed by the international solidarity and coexistence councilor, Lia Giovanazzi Beltrami, in countries such as Albania, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Mozambique. “We integrated the annual program – reads a note from the Autonomous Province – to start important projects aimed in particular at young people and women, who face complex or particularly serious issues and return from a long-term leave and seek, where possible, to make local communities autonomous and able to deal with their own path of development.” With the same provision, the Trentino executive approved projects submitted during the first integration, with an expenditure commitment for 2013 of €267,140, for 2014 of €45,090 and for 2015 of €35,070. These projects relate to education and Tibetan exiled children in India, a project for the promotion of sport and health for children in the poorer regions of Bolivia, the construction of a community center in Paudalho (Brazil), and a vocational training project in Uganda. Finally, with further deliberation, the provincial government has extended the protocol to support the rural hospital of Caia in Mozambique.
