Aug. 27 – “Culurgiones,” veal in Cannonau wine sauce, tomatoes, eggplant, zucchini, potatoes and cheese. From appetizers to desserts, everything is “made in Sardinia.” The menu will be served on board the Society of Southern Navigation ships running from Marseille to Ajaccio, Bastia, Propriano and Porto Torres in Sardinia. The menu evokes a journey within a journey, offering tourists the chance to know, enjoy and appreciate Sardinia’s typical products. This is not a new project, but rather a comeback after the lucky success of the first time. The experiment started last year, and was appreciated and respected for its business results. Thus, Sept. 13-28, the French shipping company, in collaboration with the CCIF (the Italian Chamber of Commerce for France in Marseille) and the Chefs of Sassari Association, will offer its passengers “Les Quinzaines Sardes” a typical Sardinian menu, aboard three ships, “Piana” (Bastia), “Girolata” (Ajaccio) and “Kalliste” (Propriano / Porto Torres). The project – explains the Chamber of Commerce – aims to bring to light typical Sardinia food products and encourage promotion of its gastronomic territories through brochures, catalogues and information to learn more about the Island, its tourist services and hospitality. The potential audience is very wide: last year about 245.000 passengers sailed between Marseille and Corsica and more than 18.000 travelled on the connection lines between Marseilles and Sardinia.
