Oct. 18 – The Marche Region and the Chinese province of Hunan are coming together to protect the environment, as highlighted by the second cooperation meeting in Changsha that focused on how to implement the objectives of the twelfth five-year plan, which sees environmental policies as a priority for China’s development. To represent the Marche region, there is a delegation, headed by Maura Malaspina, composed by the Heads of the Environment and Agriculture Services, the Technical Director of Arpam, company representatives and the Polytechnic University of Marche. The aim is to follow up the first meeting, held in July in the Marche region, which laid the foundation of a triple collaboration with the Government of Hunan Province, important local businesses and the Central South University of Changsha. “The cooperation program – said Malaspina – in environmental protection consists of three lines of action: training for government officials and exchange of interns, technological and industrial cooperation, and technical and scientific exchanges between the two universities. The meeting with governor Du Jiahao was friendly and constructive. The organic relations’ system constitutes the essential policy and institutional framework within which to place the respective collaborations between businesses, universities and administrative apparatus. This second meeting is an important step to strengthen relations between the two governments and their enterprises and organizations. This meeting is also part of the regional operational strategy carried out by our Marche government to support exports, give technical assistance to SMEs in emerging countries and encourage forms of direct investment inflows and outflows in support of the regional economy.” The mission includes a visit to local businesses, the university and the Department of Environmental Protection. In the coming days, further meetings between the Marche and other local businesses will take place. In November, the governor of Hunan province, Du Jiahao, will head to the Marche to sign a cooperation agreement between the two territories.
