(Dec. 18) – Giuseppe Giofrè, winner of the 2012 Amici di Maria de Filippi show, on air on Canale5, performed for the “NRJ Music Awards”, the French musical event, first established 15 years ago, that acknowledges the world’s greatest artists. The event, organized by NRJ radio at the Palais des Festivals of Cannes, saw Giofrè, Calabria native, born in 1993 add another important achievement to his career. “A year ago, I was chosen, among other thousands, for X-Factor UK, and I had the unique opportunity to perform with Brian Friedman (also choreographer for Britney Spears and Justin Bieber): it was one of the greatest experiences of my life – says Giuseppe, who adds – The experience in France was just as great, with performances by Stromae and Katy Perry, on the same stage where Michael Jackson, Britney Spears, Madonna and many others performed.” The Awards were held Saturday Dec. 14, but before reaching this stage, Giuseppe had to go to Paris and audition: “I went, and there were so many dancers auditioning. But dancing is my life, and I gave it my very best. It was an honor for me to perform alongside talented dancers.” In France, the “NRJ Music Awards” are one of the most awaited events of the year. This year, the artists performing were: Katy Perry, One Direction, Will.i.am and James Arthur: “Seeing this artists during rehearsals was highly educational for me; it better defined my more immediate goals: becoming a dancer for an international artist, become part of their dance group. Each year, I gain more experience and I thank my lucky stars for the experiences I get to live.” Giofrè has talent, charisma, determination and enthusiasm; an enthusiasm and passion he divides between dance and music. He recently released his first EP “Call on me,” which contains the single “I got the night”, currently on radio and “Break”, released in March. “Call on me” is a metaphor for life: dance as a means to express oneself, liberate oneself, fight and evolve.
