Dec. 19 – Buffon, Totti and Balotelli are like “typhoons” for those who must deal with opponents on the field, but when a real typhoon unleashed its destructive force , then we are talking of anything but a game. People from the Philippines know that, as the typhoon Haiyan hit the Country making over 6000 victims and 1779 still missing. And moreover, the tidal wave that is poured in some coastal areas has destroyed everything, from infrastructure to basic services. Buffon, Totti and Balotelli will help the Filipino people to stand up: Italy’s Lega Serie A and the Italian Referee Association (Aia) have decided to support the fundraising campaign “Quasi salvi (Almost safe)” promoted by Agire and the Italian Red Cross dedicating the 17th round of the season to the humanitarian emergency in the Philippines. “More than a month after the disaster, Agire and the Italian Red Cross – says a joint statement from the two organizations – continue to work alongside the Filipino population. Surviving, in fact, is not enough to be safe, nor to declare the end of the emergency”. On December 21st and 22nd, before the start of the games, referees will wear dedicated bibs. In the stadiums will be exhibited banners of Agire and the Italian Red Cross, and will be broadcasted commercials that invite to donate 2 euros by sending an SMS to 45504 or by calling the same number from a landline to support the commitment of humanitarian workers in the areas most affected by the typhoon.
