Dec. 26 – There’s always a first time, even for an exceptional artist like Ennio Morricone, who for the first time will conduct a concert in the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku. On January 25, the Heydar Aliyev Palace will host Morricone and the State Symphony Orchestra of Azerbaijan together with the State Capella Chorus. This will be a unique opportunity for the Baku audience to appreciate previously unpublished pieces alongside the most popular film soundtracks, like “Once Upon a Time in America,” “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly,” “Once Upon a Time in the West” and many others. Buta Arts Centre organized the concert with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan. Come 2014, Morricone will fly to the U.S. for two extraordinary events in Los Angeles and New York. The Maestro will lead an orchestra of 200 musicians and a choir at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on March 20 and at the Barclays Center in New York on March 23.
