Jan. 16 – The Zurich ETH is giving an important recognition to the University of Parma and its researcher. The Swiss university has invited Dr. Giuseppe Mingione, professor of Mathematical Analysis within the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Parma, to give a series of lectures on the subject at the Politecnico. The “Nachdiplom Lectures” are a series of specialized seminar lectures that the ETH awards annually to a mathematician that has distinguished himself or herself worldwide for innovation and the impact of his or her research. The “Nachdiplom Lectures” have been held by some of the greatest mathematicians, including several winners of the Fields Medal in recent years. Dr. Mingione is the first Italian to participate in the lectures since 2001.
