Feb. 6 – Trentino’s winter tourism season is performing extremely well, but the Provincial authorities are already promoting summer’s potential: the Dolomiti are open for business year-round. Trentino Turismo and Promozione is in charge of coordinating all tourism operators in their participation in fairs, workshops, online campaigns… The overall promotional structure is dedicating particular attention to the largest influx markets: Italy, Germany, the Netherlands and the UK. But, this year, there will be targeted campaigns for promising markets: Poland, Northern Europe and the Czech Republic. “One of our most effective instruments is the worldwide web – says the Autonomous Province of Trento – and Trentino Turismo e Promozione is investing heavily in targeted campaigns on dedicated websites, as well as social networks.” A more traditional promotional channel is participating in tourism fairs, an art at which the institutions excels. January 11-19, the Province participated at the Cmt in Stuttgart; January 15-19 at the Vakantiebeurs fair in Utrecht dal 15 al 19; and since yesterday (and until Feb. 9), it will be at the Reisen of Hamburg. The Province will also attend the Free fair of Munich (February 19-23), the Freizeit of Nurimberg (Feb. 26- March 2) and the Itb in Berlin (March 5-9). The Province has set up a number of workshops to enable direct commercial relations among operators. These will take place in Stockholm on April 3, and in London, Edimburg. The unofficial motto of the campaign is a quote by Immanuel Kant: “How boring would Earth’s surface be without mountains.”
