Feb. 10 – The Italian publishing system promotes itself in Turkey. Istanbul will soon host a workshop organized by ICE – the Agency for the promotion abroad and internationalization of Italian companies, in collaboration with the Association of Italian Editors (AIE). Mark your calendars for February 20 and 21, when the Lutfi Kirdar Business Center will become a meeting point between Italian and Turkish publishers. During the first day, representatives of the IEA and Turkyabyr – the Turkish Publishing Association – will introduce the two local markets; there will then be a series of B2B meetings. On the second day, the morning will see participating editors meet with Askos, followed by a visit to the Bilgi Library, and to an important library of the D&R chain. The purpose of the mission is to explore the possibility of increasing the exchange and transfer of publishing rights by uniting among the Italian publishing houses that have already rooted relationships with major publishing houses in Turkey, in the hope of bringing in smaller publishers, who require assistance from more established companies in foreign markets.
