Feb. 13 – AgustaWestland recently won new bids for €130 mln. The Finmeccanica company will provide 13 helicopters for governmental and commercial purposes to a number of clients in North and Southeast Asia. The important announcement was made during the Singapore Airshow 2014: the Malaysian operator Weststar Aviation Services signed a contract for the provisioon of 10 AW139 helicopters for offshore transport, adding to the other 24 it already has in storage. The Fire Department of Chungnam (in South Korea) ordered one AW139 for emergency transport in case of fire. AgustaWestland will also provide two AW109 Power helicopters for the Philippines’ Navy, which will operate them in various naval mission, including search and rescue, protection of the free trade zone, surveillance and security. The Navy already possesses three similar helicopters. AgustaWestland thus confirms its leadership position within Finmeccanica and abroad, demonstrating its ability to offer a wide range of products to an international audience.
