Feb. 27 – An Italian award to celebrate Italian cinema overseas: the Excellence Award was designed by Gianni Bulgari, former president, CEO and creative director of Bulgari, now owner of the brand Gb Enigma. The precious award, given to the true ambassadors of Italian cinema around the world, will be handed out during the 9th edition of the Los Angeles Italian Film, Fashion and Art Fest, an international festival representing an important artistic and cultural bridge between the Italian and the American film industries. The Fest will take place at the Tcl Chinese Theatre, bringing together actors and directors of international fame, including Servillo and Paolo Sorrentino, for whom there is a special tribute planned for their Academy Award nomination for Best Foreign Film. The Excellence Awards will also go to actress Valeria Golino, the Italian-American director David O. Russell, the genius behind American Hustle, and singer-songwriter Francesco De Gregori. The design, by Bulgari, reinterprets an eagle with spread wings, the evocative symbol of the United States, so as to represent the artistic link between Italy and the U.S. “Cinema is a major cultural expressions of the spirit of a country, for that reason – says Gianni Bulgari – we decided to enhance the artistic collaboration between Italy and the United States with an award that best depicts the relationship between these two realities.” Gianni Bulgari’s talent and experience translate well in the search for creative solutions that are not limited to the pure design of jewelry, finding space for new modes of expression, which include the design of prestigious awards, such as the Ischia Global Film & Music Fest, the Capri, the Hollywood Fest and the Taodue Golden Camera Award for the Best First / Second Film.
