Apr. 7 – The only private bilingual and bicultural school in North America recognized by the Ministry of Education is the Italian School Guglielmo Marconi in New York. A Lombardy delegation on a mission to New York for Milan Expo 2015 visited the school to present a cultural, language and learning exchange project between Guglielmo Marconi and primary schools in Lombardy. “The cultural exchange – said the Councilor for Education of the Lombardy Region, Valentina Aprea – will be an opportunity for Italian and American teachers and children to delve into a multicultural and interdisciplinary logic, which also reflect this year’s Expo theme: ‘Feeding the Planet, energy for life.'” “This initiative – said the Dean of the Guglielmo Marconi School, Anna Fiore – will also allow us to meet the local demand for knowledge of our language, of which I note great interest among New Yorkers, especially with regard to to the excellence of our food, culture and design.”
