El Kef – The Cinemovel Foundation, created to design sustainable cinema initiatives, has arrived in the city of El Kef, Tunisia, thanks to the ONG Cephas and the non-profit association ‘Femmes et Citoyennité.’ Together, they are presenting the project “Med-Itinérante: femmes et cinéma en route pour le dialogue social” in support of women’s rights. The project was created with the support of the Anna Lindh Foundation. The project includes a number documentary and social reportage training courses taught by Walter Romeo, Italian photographer and director. 12 people working with Tunisia’s human development associations will attend the course. Furthermore, the students will film two short productions on women’s rights and citizenship. The two works will be later screened at the traveling cinema caravan across the El Kef province between May 2 and May 10. One of the students will then travel to Bologna, May 20-23, to meet with local students and share her experience. (9Colonne)
