Apr. 28 – With 413 participants, including 118 Masters of Wine, Florence beats Bordeaux at the 8th edition of the World Wine Symposium, by the Institute of Masters of Wine, to be held in Florence May 15-18. In 2010, the French capital of wine gathered 311 members, but Italy’s hosting debut registered a sold out, with 413 attendees from 32 countries, including 118 Masters. “The record-breaking edition of this 8th World Wine Symposium is organized for the first time in Italy in collaboration with the Istituto Grandi Marchi – said Piero Antinori, president of the Institute of Italian Wines Grandi Marchi – And it shows that the Masters of Wine are interested in learning more about our productions. These Masters of Wine are leading international experts in the field, able to influence the outlet channels of the entire supply chain: horeca, media, auctions, distributors, importers, in both emerging and consolidated markets. We also have a long waiting list, and I am sure that everyone will draw benefits from this important event.” For Jean -Michel Valette, president of the Institute of Masters of Wine “the Symposium in Florence is a milestone for our mission to promote excellence, exchanges and global communication. Bringing together a diverse group of winemaking experts guarantees that participants will enjoy a privileged gateway to the latest news and trends in terms of innovation. Participants will also have the unique opportunity to build a network with the trend-creators and leaders in the sector.”
