May 13 – On May 15, at 6pm, the Italian Institute of Culture in Marseille will host a literary appointment with author Roberto Ferrucci. The event will be preceded at 2pm by an “atelier” of creative writing, free for all students of Italian language courses and for members of the Italian Cultural Institute. The event comes at the end of the Venice exhibition cycle, native land for Ferrucci, where he was born in 1960. His first novel, “Terra Rossa,” was published in 1993. His following works, “Giocando a pallone sull’acqua” (1999) and “Andate e ritorni. Scorribande a nordest, (2003)” are an account of his travels on a Vespa through the Italian North East. He then authored the novel “Cosa Cambia” in 2007, which was released in France in April 2010, translated by Jerome Nicolas, with the title “Ça Change quoi” published by Les Éditions du Seuil with an introduction by Antonio Tabucchi. In 2010, “Sentimenti sovversivi”/”Sentiments subversifs” was released in a bilingual edition by the French publisher MEET (Maison des écrivains étrangers et traducteurs), with a translation by Nicolas. In June 2011, the novel was published in Italy – with two additional chapters – by the publishing house Isbn. Ferrucci has translated several novels by Jean-Philippe Toussaint and Patrick Deville. Not just a writer, Ferrucci also teaches creative writing at the Faculty of Letters of the University of Padua. He also writes for various newspapers, such as Il Corriere della Sera and Il Fatto Quotidiano.
