Rio de Janeiro – The national men’s volleyball team leaves today for Brazil, where next weekend begins the World League 2014. Coach Mauro Berruto called Baranowicz and Travica as setters; Kovar, Parodi, Randazzo, Sabbi, Vettori and Zaytsev as hitters and opposites; Birarelli, Buti and Piano as middle blockers; and Rossini as libero. Italy will play Friday and Saturday in Brazil, then on May 30 (in Trieste) there will be Italy – Iran; on June 2 (in Verona), Italy – Iran; June 6 (in Bari), Italy and Poland; June 8 (in Rome), Italy and Poland; June 13-15 Poland – Italy in Katowice; June 20-22 in Tehran Iran-Italy; July 3 (in Bologna), Italy -Brazil; July 6 (in Milan), Italy-Brazil, and July 16-20 the Final Six in Florence.
