Beirut – The ICE Agency is organizing the collective participation of Italian companies at the exhibition “Project Lebanon,” which runs from today through Friday in Beirut. The fair is one of the most important trade showcases for the entire South Mediterranean area and the 2013 edition recorded 20,641 visitors and 712 exhibitors from 25 countries. The Lebanese market continues to offer significant business opportunities for Italian companies in the construction industry, especially in light of the international crisis in the industry and in the face of difficulties on the Italian market. In the first seven months of 2013, real estate development built more than 7 million square feet. In Beirut alone 375 136 square meters were built, equivalent to 4.9% of the total. Following are cement deliveries, which reached 2.66 million tons in the first half of 2013 and increased by 2.7 % over 2012, making up for the 2.9% decrease between 2012 and 2011. (9Colonne)
