June 9 – Once again Italian geologists are on top of the world, or at least Europe. Naples-native Domenico Calcaterra, Professor of Geology at the University of Naples Federico II, was unanimously confirmed General Secretary of the European Federation of Geologists. A great success for Calcaterra, as the association brings together more than 30,000 geologists. “The dissemination of ethical and professional values of European geologists will be a fundamental mission for the federation – said Calcaterra – in the framework of the EGF Strategy Plan for 2013-2017.”
