Shama – In recent days, the Italian Blue Helmets organized a course on the recognition of landmines and unexploded ordnance (UXO and Mines Awareness Course) for 40 soldiers of the Lebanese Armed Forces. The course took place at the headquarters of the Joint Task Force Lebanon in Shama. The activity is coordinated by EOD (Explosive Ordinary Disposals) specialists and instructors from the Italian contingent. The goal is to increase knowledge and capacity to intervene in the event of explosive devices. The UXO and Mines Awareness course is part of the training program set up by the Italian contingent for the Lebanese military. The program includes Anti Riot and Crowd Control Techniques and Basic Life Support, as well operations conduct courses. (9Colonne)
