Kiev – Kiev is getting ready to host a gala evening sponsored by the Embassy of Italy, the Italian Institute of Culture in Kiev and the National Opera of Ukraine within the project CIDIM-MAE “Suono Italiano.” The event will inaugurate the Italian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The event, scheduled for July 1 at the National Opera of Ukraine, will be attended by famous Italian and Ukrainian artists: Liudmyla Monastyrska (soprano), Anzhelina Shvachka (mezzo-soprano), Francesca Dego (violin), Francesco Anile (Tenor), Gaetano Di Bacco (saxophone), and Serhii Mahera (bass), who will be accompanied by the Symphony Orchestra of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine and the Choir of the National Opera of Ukraine, conducted by Maestro Francesco Maria Colombo. The Gala will be bring together various Italian musical scenes: opera, symphonic music, instrumental, choral, classical and contemporary. The program includes pieces by Vivaldi, Paganini, Rossini, Verdi, Leoncavallo, Puccini, Mascagni, Di Capua, Theodorakis, Morricone and Molinelli. (9Colonne)
