June 24 – “Dietro il buio” is the latest film by Giorgio Pressburger, loosely based on the literary work by Claudio Magris “Lei dunque capirà.” Produced by Mattia Vecchi for Sine Sole Cinema (with the support of the Contemporary Culture Center of Barcelona), the film reinterprets the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, played by Sarah Maestri and Gabriele Geri. The film was set between Gorizia, Trieste and Grado and released in Italian cinemas on May 25, 2012. This July 3, the movie will be screened (in its original version with English subtitles) at the Sprachen & Dolmetscher Institut of Munich in the presence of Giorgio Pressburger and Claudio Magris. The film chronicles the journey of a young woman through a maze “House of Rest” from which the husband wants to get it out to bring it back to normal life. Giorgio Pressburger is a Hungarian-Italian director, writer and playwright, who was also director of the Italian Institute of Culture in Budapest. Magris has written the script for several films; from Trieste, he is one of the most notable essayists and brilliant Italian scholars of Central European literature; he won the Strega Prize with the book “Microcosmos” in 1998, and has been nominated several times for the Nobel Prize for Literature. The event – scheduled at 7pm – was organized by the Italian Institute of Culture, the Sprachen & Dolmetscher Institut and Forum Italia.
