(Jul. 1st) Together with the Italian Presidency of the EU Council, in Europe is coming a star of made in Italy: olive oil. In fact, 900 bottles of authentic Italian extra virgin olive oil from the Italian consortium Unaprol will be delivered to representatives of the 28 EU countries that will meet in the 21 Councils of Ministers and Ambassadors and in the three meetings planned during the Italian Presidency. The initiative is shared by the Permanent Representation of Italy to the EU. It will be a way to raise awareness of the multiplicity of the product that comes from more than 350 different varieties of olives in the peninsula, from Taggiasca and Lavagnina in Liguria to Frantoio and Leccino in Tuscany; from Moraiolo in Umbria to Carboncella in Sabina; from Gentile in Abruzzo to the Rotondella in Campania; from Ogliarola, Coratina and Cellina in Apulia to Dolce di Rossano and Carolea in Calabria.
