Buenos Aires – A flag and a badge to remind emigrants of their origins. The initiative stems from the Flag Committee of Italiani nel Mondo Argentina (CTIM), and was promoted by Giuseppe Angeli, “as a bridgehead – reads a note – for a global campaign.” The President of CTIM in Argentina kicked off the initiative by offering an Italian flag to the Italians, their descendants and friends. “It’s a symbol and a common trait to remind us all of the Italian style that unites our compatriots living abroad,” says the secretary general of CTIM, Roberto Menia. “At a time in history when we’re trying to break down and disintegrate symbols and memberships, – he adds – this initiative is to remind everyone of the common starting point that all of our diaspora members share.” (9Colonne)
