July 22 – Rehabilitation with the help of robotic systems and advanced technologies is now possible. Robotics can help recover from strokes and respiratory diseases. These new perspectives were brought on by the latest results from the joint Laboratory for Biomedical Engineering and Rehabilitation of Volterra, the rehabilitation centre “Auxilium Vitae,” and the Institute of bio robotics at the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna of Pisa. The results will be presented by Stefano Mazzoleni, a researcher at the Scuola Superiore Sant ‘Anna, during the 5th edition of BioRob, the most important international conference on biomedical robotics and bio mechatronics, scheduled for August 12-15 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Stefano Mazzoleni will report on two different batches of results, and will participation in a workshop on neurological rehabilitation. On August 14, Paolo Dario, director of the Institute of bio robotics, will hold a lecture on the achievements and challenges of robotics for personal assistance.
