Mexico City – Last December, the Mexican government approved a constitutional reform that will end the oil monopoly and allow private companies, Mexican or foreign, to invest in upstream (exploration and production) and downstream (refining) activities. Without affecting the state control over hydrocarbons, the reform will allow the entry of private capital in the oil industry. For Italian exports, the effects of the reform will touch only the main oil companies, but will also have an impact on systems and services companies specializing in the production of machinery for drilling / fracking and pipelines. The increase in investments arising from the reform will open more opportunities for companies operating in these sectors. (9Colonne)
