(Aug. 4) An intercultural dialogue that pushes through the revitalization and enhancement of ancient theaters of the Mediterranean Sea from the Greek and Roman eras. This is the Athens festival, an initiative born from the cultural cooperation between Lecce and Spain’s Burgos (which is project leader) and Croatia’s Pula. The project includes the creation of a joint international festival in various artistic and cultural fields to develop a Mediterranean network of ancient theaters. The festivals are organized in each of the partner cities: Burgos was held on August 2 and 3, while Lecce and Pola will be held respectively from August 19 to 21 and September 10 to 12. The theater and the Roman amphitheater will host the festival in Lecce.
