Aug. 18 – The Galerie Plutschow & Felchlin in Zurich presents “Leggero, misurato. Ci si abitua presto,” the first solo exhibition in the Swiss city by David Casini (first opening on August 28 at 5pm, open to the public August 29-October 4). Casini comes from Montevarchi, but he lives and works between Faenza and Geneva. His works clearly show “the presence of an elastic perception of time that could go forward or backward, to recover materials and handcrafted styles of bygone eras to better express futuristic visions – reads a note on the exhibition – The work finds in a new balance and energy the capacity to make heterogeneous elements coexist and give rise to new symbols. As a collector, the artist captures its elements in strange geometries, in delicate, almost impalpable, balances.” Casini has chosen brass as his preferred material, mainly for its retro preciousness. Much like in a musical sheet, the subtle metal structures punctuate space: full and empty spaces created with colored objects “that give life – ends the statement – to a harmonic piece, audible only through vision.”
