Sept. 2 – “Interno-Esterno” is a solo exhibition by artist Agostino Ferrari that will be inaugurated on September 9 at the Italian Institute of Culture in Tirana. This is the second exhibition organized by the Tirana IIC, after that of Agnese Purgatorio, part of the contemporary art project on “Borders, language, space, things, and people,” curated by Martina Corgnati for the Italian Cultural Institutes of Cologne, Strasbourg, Tirana and Zagreb. The project was created to celebrate the Italian Presidency of the European Union, bringing four Italian artists to exhibit in the four Institutes: Maria Cristina Carlini, Agostino Ferrari, Agnese Purgatorio and Donatella Spaziani. Ferrari will put on display twenty paintings mainly in acrylic, and mixed media and sand. He begins from the color black, a metaphor for both the unknown and the limitless possibilities that await mankind over the threshold of our current knowledge. Ferrari develops space in a way that suggests new horizons, without becoming as aggressive as Lucio Fontana, who used to cut the canvas.
