Sept. 10 – Between Umbria and China, things are serious: the Vice-President of the Italian Region, Carla Casciari, received yesterday a Chinese delegation from Chengdu, the capital of the Sichuan province, one of the most important economic centers of southwest China. The purpose of the visit is to strengthen relations between the city of Chengdu and Umbria, and to study issues relating to food security, through a direct transfer of the experiences fostered within Umbria Agribusiness Technology Park. During the meeting, the Vice President said that, “for about two years, Umbria worked to establish partnerships with local Chinese provinces, concerning culture, economy, tourism, food safety, and the recovery and enhancement of cultural heritage sites. To this end, we have activated joint development projects and a solid institutional agreement based on commerce, and the exchange of cultural, academic and touristic experiences.”
