New York – The countdown for the world premiere of the New York Philharmonic’s tribute Italian to Italian soundtracks has officially begun. On September 16, for the first time in 173 years, the New York Philharmonic will open its season with an event dedicated to the excellence of Italian original scores, “La Dolce Vita: The music of Italian cinema.” The project is the brainchild of the Sugar Group in collaboration with the New York Philharmonic conducted by Alan Gilbert, with the support of the Istituto Luce Cinecittà. The concert at the Avery Fisher Hall will bring the audience on a journey across the most beautiful and important soundtracks in Italian film history. The event is an exclusive gala evening of music and cinema under the patronage of Martin Scorsese. (9Colonne)
