Sept. 18 – Pier Luigi Malesani, Secretary General of Copeam, the Permanent Conference of the Mediterranean, accepted the invitation of the Mauritanian public television Tvm and travelled to Nouakchott to define future cooperation projects in the audiovisual sector. Malesani discussed with the Minister of Parliamentary and Civil Society Relations, the government spokesman Izdbih Ould Mohamed Mahmoud. Together, they identified possible cooperation topics regarding training, co-production of documentaries and the digitization of the archives. Malesani invited Minister Izdbih to the next Copeam Annual Conference, which will be held in Malta March 26-28. The Secretary General also met with the director of Radio Mauritania, Mohamed Cheikk Sidi Mohamed, with the President of Hapa (the Press and Audiovisual Regulatory body), Hamoud M’hamed, and with broadcasting manager Mohamed El Mahfoudh. Tvm, which participates in Copeam, signed a protocol of cooperation.
