(Oct 6) After the success of the debut at the Exhibition Palace and the stage in Emilia Romagna, “The Imaginary Food. 1950- 1970 Advertising and images of Italy at the table” arrives in Hungary. The exhibition conceived and developed by Marco Panella and produced by Artix tell 20 years of Italian life and customs through iconography, styles and languages of the advertising of food and the rituals of eating. The show will be hosted by the Italian Cultural Institute in the city from tomorrow until October 28. “The IIC in Budapest, in view of Expo 2015, is organizing a series of events to reflect on the food, its meanings and interpretations,” says Director of the Institute Gina Giannotti. “The exhibition designed by Marco Panella, telling Italy and twenty years of Italian life through food advertising and eating rituals, fits perfectly in this context. The common language and aesthetic of advertising summarizes the information and preserves the immediacy of the message, managing to be extremely communicative for a foreign audience.”
