Tirana – Tirana kicks off the second day of conferences on “Italy and Albania: a partnership for Europe.” The inaugural ceremony was held yesterday, but the main event is today, with a conference in the Aula Magna of the Catholic University ‘Our Lady of Good Counsel.’ The day will see the participation of Italian language students who last April and May took part in “2014: preparing for Europe,” an Italian project focused on european training, sponsored and supported by the Embassy of Italy and the Italian Institute of Culture. The aim of the conference, which takes place a few months after Albania officially obtained the candidate status to the European union, is to reflect on the future of Albania, starting from the role played by Italy in its integration process to Europe, and placing this bilateral perspective within the broader strategic framework of EU enlargement and regional cooperation in the Western Balkans.
