Bangkok – The Compagnia del Teatro Verde, based in Rome, will go on stage today in the Large Hall of Bangkok’s National Theatre for the ”Harmony World Puppet Carnival 2014.” The most important festival of puppets in the world brings together over 150 theater companies from about 80 countries. The Company – now under the artistic direction of Veronica Olmi – just celebrated its 35 years of activity. This invitation to represent Italy (along with the Koreja Cantieri from Lecce) is a further recognition of the high quality of the company’s performances throughout the years. The artists will perform “Once there was a king” written by Andrea Calabretta and directed by Francesco Mattioni. The show, staged for the first time in Moscow in September 2008, has traveled across Tunisia, Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia and Azerbaijan. (9Colonne)
