Nov. 10 – Sace flies to Kazakhstan with €500 million available for new projects. The insurance group aims to consolidate Italy’s position in a diverse range of industry sectors in the Asian country by participating in the trade mission organized by the Ministry of Economic Development and Confindustria. Italy’s exports and investments operations portfolio insured by SACE in Kazakhstan amounts to €67 million, and is concentrated mainly in the metallurgical, and infrastructure and construction industries, but the country’s potential in the medium term is richer: there are interesting opportunities in the areas of infrastructure, mechanical technology, agribusiness, textiles and clothing. Of particular note is the public investment plan of $5 billion, which aims to strengthen the role of Kazakhstan in the air, sea and rail transport industry at the regional level. Also interesting is cooperation with multilateral financial institutions to support small and medium-sized entreprises. (Cle)
