Nov. 14 – For the first time in the history of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, an Italian singer, Vincenzo Cantiello, will participate. The international singing competition, dedicated to European children aged 10 to 16, will take place in Malta on Saturday, November 15- In Italy, RAI will broadcast the event live starting at 6:35pm on Rai Gulp, with Simone Lijoi presenting the event. Cantiello is one of the little stars that dazzled the Italian public during the last season of the Rai1 TV program “Ti lascio una canzone.” He will sing “Tu primo grande amore,” a balanced tune between traditional and modern Italian melodies. “I am very proud to host the live show for Rai Gulp. Since as Rai2 Director I organized Italy’s participation in the grown-up version of the Eurosong Contest, after 17 years of absence, I understand just how historical this moment is. This time, I am equally thrilled to bring to our younger audiences a new interesting and international competition,” said the Director of Rai Ragazzi, Massimo Liofredi. “To support our great contestant, we put together a great production and artistic team.”
