Haifa – The series “In the shadow of Italian gardens abroad” presents a new event, organized by the Italian Cultural Institute of Haifa. Ada V. Segre will speak at a conference on “Water theaters in Renaissance Italian gardens,” scheduled for Tuesday, December 2 at 7:30pm at the WIZO Academic Center of Haifa. Water is the ultimate expression of life and yet has no shape, speed or sound; it was backbone of Renaissance gardens, structured along water lines and fountains. The Conference takes into account the different water elements present in Italian Renaissance gardens with particular reference to the gardens of Villa Lante, Palazzo Farnese in Caprarola and Villa d’Este in Tivoli. Ada V. Segre, restorer of historic gardens, studied at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, the University of Bologna, and York University (UK). (9Colonne)
