(Dec. 1) Listed as one of the excellence of the international music scene, Roman composer Gabriele Ciampi now boasts the recognition of numerous awards, including the prize “Eccellenza Italiana”, awarded by Italy’s Senate, the Green-Card for Extraordinary Ability, issued by the US Government, the “Instrumental Artist of the Year” award at the Los Angeles Music Award and the recognition “Primidieci Under-40 2014” awarded by the PrimiDieci Society, in partnership with the Italy-America Chamber of Commerce of New York, to ten Italian under 40 present in the US who have distinguished themselves for the quality of their projects and for their professionalism in their field. “To have been identified among the ‘Primidieci Under 40′ – said the composer and director – for me is definitely a source of pride and unlike other awards in the past, this one comes from my country, so it strictly is tied to my origins.” The composer has a long experience abroad and that allowed him to achieve great results. “I do not consider myself – he said about the brain-drain – one of those who leave their country for good. In fact I hope to return to Italy someday. In the past, unfortunately, in Italy there haven’t been for me the conditions to develop a new project I had in mind, which it was instead possible in United States, where I managed to overcome the difficulties getting results quickly. But I think – he concluded – that Italy is a great country to realize your dream, but unfortunately in the historical moment we are experiencing I think is really hard just the dream. That’s why I consider America more open to new things.” (red)
