Colombo – The GUS – Gruppo Umana Solidarietà – and the La Stampa – Specchio dei Tempi Foundation launched a campaign to raise awareness and fund the project “For her future” for girls who are victims of violence and abuse that then seek refuge in the Human Solidarity Children Village, managed by GUS, in Sri Lanka. Ten years ago, after the disasters caused by the terrible tsunami, the GUS flew to Sri Lanka to help manage a complex humanitarian emergency intervention. “It is impossible to forget the suffering and hardships experienced by the population in those days – declares Giovanni Lattanzi, responsible for GUS International Cooperation – but today we can say that those who paid the highest price, in terms of psychological trauma, were mainly children and adolescents.” (9Colonne)
