Brussels – The University of Bologna (Unibo), alongside Aster and the CNR, is a partner of the newly formed Knowledge Innovation Communities dedicated to raw materials. With this participation, the University of Bologna and Emilia Romagna strengthen their central role on the European scene. After the establishment of the Knowledge Innovation Communities (KICs) in the areas of climate change, renewable energy and ICT, the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) has launched two new communities for innovation in the areas of “healthy living – active aging” and in the field of “raw materials”. For the latter, the EIT appointed the consortium RawMatTERS, a partnership involving the University of Bologna. Thanks to this important initiative on the issue of raw materials, the University of Bologna will be eligible for funding for the development of industrial initiatives, to strengthen its capacity for innovation in the three fundamental pillars identified by the EIT: research, entrepreneurship and advanced training.
