Victoria – Stopping in the Seychelles in early January, the Doria participated in a complex exercise alongside the patrol aircraft of the local air force and a patrol boat of the Coast Guard, fast ship of Maritime Police and its flagship. Following the simulated attack to a vessel from a group of pirates (Pag), the Seychelles Coast Guard intervened requesting support to the Doria for coordination to search and intercept the Pag. Once identified by air support, the pirate ship (Skiff) was intercepted and blocked by the Doria’s security team. This allowed immediate action by the Coast Guard to start the evidence collection phase against the alleged pirates, who were then arrested and taken aboard the Maritime Police flagship. (9Colonne)
