Jan. 21 – A multinational energy company that operates in 32 countries in 4 different continents cannot ignore and give priority to its environmental sustainability. Enel is well aware of this, and to confirm the fact, it just received the “Gold Class” for sustainability in the Sustainability Yearbook 2015 by “RobecoSAM”, the publication that evaluates sustainability performances of the world’s largest companies. Enel is one of the only three “Gold Class” assigned, globally, in the electric utility industry and one among the four Italian “Gold Class” companies. In 2014, among the three thousand leading companies screened by RobecoSAM, only 457 were admitted in the 59 categories of the Sustainability Yearbook, with the following results: 69 “Gold Class”, 54 “Silver Class” and 112 “Bronze Class.” Endesa, the Spanish subsidiary of Enel, was awarded the “Silver Class” in the Electric Utility section.
