Jan. 26 – In an imaginary town, they want to build a monument to caciocavallo cheese, to celebrate the history of a people and to sing its revenge. An idea that is discussed as time expands. The characters live through bizarre road system, political developments, construction companies, festivities and Calabria. All of this is “Il caciocavallo di bronzo,” a novel – sang and played – by Peppe Voltarelli. Artist, author and actor, Voltarelli is ready to present his work in Cologne, where he will take the stage on Saturday, January 31 (at 8pm). The event – promoted by the Italian Institute of Culture of the city – takes place at Mondo Aperto (Offene Welt eV, Zugweg 22). Voltarelli – accompanied by his guitar and Alessandro Palmitessa on clarinet and piano – will read a few pages from the book. The event is part of the series of meetings “Musik im Offenen Dialog”. Founder and frontman for fifteen years of the group “Il parto delle nuvole pesanti,” with whom he made seven albums, Voltarelli collaborated with musicians such as Teresa De Sio, Claudio Lolli, David Van De Sfroos, and Roy Paci. He’s a multifaceted and versatile artist, who also flirted with film and theater. Voltarelli has performed abroad for years, receiving applause and acclaim in the Czech Republic, Austria, Spain, Switzerland and Germany. In recent years, he also performed in Canada, the US and Mexico.
