Jan. 28 . The EU strategy for the Alpine Region (Eusalp) sees Friuli Venezia Giulia present itself as the leader of a project to strengthen cross-border services in Austria, Slovenia and Bavaria. This emerged at a meeting in Zurich among representatives and experts of the seven member countries: Austria, Germany, France, Italy, Slovenia, Switzerland and Liechtenstein. “In the Zurich meeting – reads a note from the Region – for which Friuli Venezia Giulia was present with its International Relations and Strategic infrastructures Service, saw a concrete dialogue on policies and further actions, which, within an established framework, can contribute to a more sustainable and competitive macro-region. Friuli Venezia Giulia – continues the statement – and the Piedmont Region represented Italian regions in the transport accessibility and coordination working group, giving a substantial contribution to the definition of strategic projects of macro-regional significance. These include the promotion of cross-border rail services, ticketing and reservations, a concerted action to invest on the bottleneck that is the Alpine area. On innovation and growth, we collected information on how to strengthen the systems specialization in specific supply chains to meet the needs of the territories that are still suffering from disparities.”
