Brussels – Yesterday, MEPs, the Italian Ambassador to Belgium and the heads of the Fondazione Palazzo Albizzini Collezione Burri officially kicked off the celebrations for the centenary of the birth of Alberto Burri. The European Parliament unveiled a monographic exhibition on Burri entitled “Gold and Black”, with 10 works by the Citta di Castello-native artist. This is just the beginning of a larger program of events to commemorate the artist, who is considered to have invented Informalism. The celebrations will culminate in October with an exhibition at the Guggenheim Museum of New York. (9Colonne)
