Feb. 6 – “Saipem, through its Ersai Caspian Contractor LLC subsidiary, has been awarded a major new Engineering & Construction contract for the Kashagan field project in the Kazakh waters of the Caspian Sea. The total value is of about $1.8 billion,” confirms the group in a statement. “Thanks to this contract we will work with some of the largest oil companies in the world – said Saipem CEO, Umberto Vergine – in a region of great interest to Saipem. It also represents another important contribution to our backlog in this difficult market environment.”
