Feb. 9 – It’s a new important date in the list of events at the Literary Café of Budapest, promoted by the Italian Institute of Culture of the Hungarian capital. One Monday a month, from January to June, the headquarters of the IIC offer great Italian literature, accompanied by a good coffee, as always offered by DeLonghi-Kimbo. After the debut last January 19, during which Michele Sità commented “Gli arancini di Montalbano” by Andrea Camilleri, the next event is scheduled for Monday, February 16 (4pm) with Margit Lukácsi presenting “Sostiene Pereira” and “Tristano muore” by Antonio Tabucchi. “In his stories – comments the presentation statement of the IIC – Tabucchi was able to condense history and fantasy in an unmistakable symbol of constructive clarity and intellectual refinement. Fatally attracted by tormented characters full of contradictions, Tabucchi is the most European of Italian writers.”
