Feb. 18 – For the past fifteen years, Enzo Del Verme has portrayed celebrities: Laetitia Casta, Donatella Versace, Marina Abramovic, Bianca Jagger, Wim Wenders are just some of the most famous entertainers captured by his camera. Del Verme’s photographs have been published in the pages of Vanity Fair, L’Uomo Vogue, The Times and many other magazines. Today he also teaches a successful workshop to combine photographic portrait techniques with a personal path of soul searching. Next March 4, at noon, the artist will host a conference on “De la moda en adelante” at the European Institute of Design (IED – from the Italian Istituto Europeo di Design). The IED promotes the initiative in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute of the Catalan city. On the same day, at 7pm, the artist will present his exhibition “Retratos en Silencio,” on display at the IED until April 8. “Every time I photograph someone, I end up knowing myself a bit better – explains Dal Verme – I could say that I look at the subjects of my portraits as if I were watching myself, expressed in a different form. We are different, but not so much.” (Red)
