Kotor – Social cooperatives can make a decisive contribution to overcome clichés, stigmas and strengthen social inclusion for those suffering from psychiatric distress. This is the “message” that Friuli Venezia Giulia professional operators passed on to their colleagues and authorities in Montenegro, who are taking part in the forum ” Beyond the barriers in the name of social inclusion,” currently underway in Podgorica and Kotor. The initiative, organized by the Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs under the European Year of Development, sees the participation of the regional councilor for Solidarity, Gianni Torrenti, the Italian Ambassador to Montenegro, Vincenzo Del Monaco, the President of the VI Commission of the Regional Council, Franco Codega, and the mayors of Monfalcone and Kotor, Silvia Altran and Aleksandar Stjepcevic. The full program of the event, which saw the active participation of the Italian Community in Montenegro (about 600 people) as well as students, includes formative, cultural, institutional, economic and social initiatives.
