Apr. 20 – “This year, Google, Unioncamere and the Chambers of Commerce renew their commitment to Italian youth and innovation with the project ‘Eccellenze in Digitale.’ The results achieved in previous initiatives in terms of concrete job opportunities for young fellows and the dissemination of a digital culture to many Italian small and medium enterprises, make it so that we have almost reached the goal of bringing on the web all Italian excellences,” comments Dardanello Ferruccio, president of Unioncamere, about the project carried out with Google and 64 Chambers of Commerce. “Made in Italy: Eccellenze in Digitale” is now being extended to new digitizers ready to disseminate digital skills among Italian companies. The websites eccellenzeindigitale.it and tagliacarne.it feature the calls for the allocation of 128 new scholarships for undergraduates, graduates and high school graduates to attend a digital training course, and, for a period of nine months, work closely with local businesses to support their digitization and help them promote their products of excellence. “Digitalization is a tremendous opportunity for growth and job creation in our country – affirmed Fabio Vaccarono, Managing Director of Google in Italy – The project developed with Unioncamere is a concrete example of how small and medium-sized Italian companies can exploit the opportunities offered by the web to become more competitive, grow in international markets and further promote the culture of Made in Italy in the world. Several thousands of companies have already taken advantage of the online training tools to transform their businesses. The grants announced today are an important milestone, because they allow us to enhance and extend the digitization project in new territories across Italy.” (Red)
